Healthcare cooperation as an effective means of combating health inequalities. Through its "Cooperating for health in Africa – Strengthening healthcare systems" course, Doctors with Africa Cuamm intends to convey this message and provide keys to understanding the situation in Africa and the implications of strengthening local healthcare systems. The training course, held each year from September to March at the Padova Headquarters, is addressed to doctors and other healthcare professionals who wish to enhance their knowledge and skills in the field of international healthcare cooperation.
The course covers areas such as public health, hospital management, surgery and anesthesia, mother-child health, and infectious diseases applied to the African setting, and serves as an introduction to the strategic approach and modus operandi that characterize the work of Doctors with Africa CUAMM. It also illustrates the main health problems in Africa, specifying the most appropriate intervention methods.
