Fifty years after the mission of CUAMM’s first doctor in Kenya, and in the wake of its support for dozens of hospitals in numerous health-care districts, the body’s presence in the country now centres around two of the seven provinces where it is conducting a social and health programme. As in the past, Doctors with Africa CUAMM’s projects are closely connected to the work of the Catholic missions, and to the health services provided by the Catholic Church, as well as the work of the priests from the Diocese of Padua who are active in Kenya.
The Doctors with Africa CUAMM project in Kenya bears all the characteristics of the body’s philosophy which, with the greatest respect for local institutions and the national health-care programme, offers its own multi-year experience in aid of the poorest and most disadvantaged.
